Lo contactamos en el Estados Unidos profundo, ese de Delawere, Pennsylvania, Illinois y con mucha emoción nos entregó parte de su arte en el video al final del artículo.

Buque de Papel: Brian, comencemos por hablar de los vasos comunicantes entre culturas y en especial con la música… Vemos y leemos que escribe muy bien el castellano, el idioma español. Cuéntenos la historia… ¿Cuándo y cómo lo aprendió? ¿El Eyre es por raíces irlandesas?

Brian Eyre: mi habilidad para hablar español es bastante limitada, por lo que utilizo Google Translate para comunicarme con personas de diferentes culturas que hablan diferentes idiomas. Es de gran ayuda para comunicarse con personas de todo el mundo utilizando el idioma que les resulte más cómodo.

El apellido Eyre es de las Islas Británicas, principalmente inglesas, pero también es común en Irlanda, Escocia y Gales.

B.P.: revisando sus perfiles para encontrar información, descubrimos en Linkedin que usted trabajó más de 20 años en el sector privado y en una multinacional como Dupont… ¿Cómo recuerda el momento en que decidió dedicarse a la guitarra, y a lo que se lee como “Fingerstyle Guitar Recording Artist”?

B.E.: sí, trabajé en el mundo de los negocios corporativos durante muchos años. Cuando terminé de trabajar en el mundo empresarial, tuve una gran sensación de libertad. Al mismo tiempo, mi esposa terminó de trabajar en un bufete de abogados. Ahora ella es artista y yo soy músico ¡Esto trae nuevas oportunidades y también muchos nuevos desafíos! También participamos en muchas actividades de voluntariado, en nuestra iglesia y también con organizaciones que ayudan a guiar a las personas y alimentar a las personas sin hogar.

B.P: también vimos que refiere una patente de invención. ¿De qué se trató? Y fue inevitable pensar que Dupont patentó las medias de punto, algo que el escritor argentino Roberto Arlt también batalló y patentó sin tener éxito final en Buenos Aires…

B.E.: sí, he recibido una patente. Está relacionado con una película de color para la industria gráfica. Dado que trabajaba para DuPont en el momento de la invención, DuPont tiene la propiedad de la invención. Pero fue un gran honor recibir esta patente.

B.P.: usted es un hombre de Wilmington, Delawere, en Estados Unidos y estudió en la universidad de este Estado que dicho sea de paso, fue el que representó dos veces como senador, el hoy presidente Biden. Y vive en Kennett Square. ¿Qué nos puede contar a quienes no conocemos su región, sobre su cultura, sus raíces, su historia, una de ese Estados Unidos profundo?

B.E.: nací en Delaware y viví en Delaware hasta los 27 años. Me trasladaron a Illinois (cerca de Chicago). Mi familia (mi esposa y mis 3 hijos) han vivido en varios lugares diferentes como parte de mi carrera empresarial, incluida la vida en Seúl, Corea del Sur durante 3 años. ¡Fue realmente una aventura para toda la familia!

Kennett Square, Pennsylvania y Wilmington, Delaware están bastante cerca el uno del otro. La cultura en ambos lugares es bastante similar. Es una zona muy histórica. A una hora en coche se encuentra Filadelfia, donde se crearon muchos de los documentos importantes de nuestro país hace más de 200 años. La gente es amigable y hay muchos tipos diferentes de comida que podemos disfrutar.

B.P.: llegó el trabajo musical y el año pasado, en plena pandemia lanzó su álbum Study of hands. ¿Cómo fue la preparación del mismo, en cuanto a letras y música?

B.E.: había planeado crear un álbum de música desde antes de la pandemia. Pero, una vez que estuvimos encerrados, pude concentrar mis esfuerzos para crear el disco mucho más que antes de la pandemia. Tuve que aprender muchas habilidades nuevas, incluido el software de grabación, la creación de un sitio web, el diseño de portadas y muchas otras cosas. Fue un gran desafío, ¡pero muy gratificante cuando finalmente se lanzó!

B.P.: también vimos un buen desarrollo de sus sencillos The New Beggining y The One about hope. ¿Son historias sobre esa nueva realidad y la esperanza por un mejor mañana, superando la pandemia? ¿De qué tratan en realidad?

B.E.: The One About Hope tiene dos significados, el primer significado es la importancia de la esperanza en nuestra vida, por eso es una canción sobre la esperanza. El segundo significado se basa en la fe: Jesús es el de la esperanza.

El nuevo comienzo se trata de un punto de inflexión en su vida que brinda nuevas oportunidades. Esto nos da energía para ir al próximo horizonte. Es una canción sobre este tipo de viaje.

B.P.: cuéntenos su arribo a la plataforma de Burro Borracho Records, con sus temas instrumentales…

B.E.: estoy muy agradecido con Burro Borracho Records por aceptar mi solicitud de agregar The One About Hope a su lista de reproducción Instrumental Folk Spotify. Esta es una de las mejores listas de reproducción a las que se ha agregado mi música. Espero volver a tener esta oportunidad con mis nuevos lanzamientos.

B.P.: y llega lanzamiento este 18 de junio… Es el sencillo Working the clock ¿De qué trata y en qué redes se puede encontrar su música? ¿Hay más música o álbumes que vaya a grabar pronto?

B.E.: Working the clock se trata de administrar nuestras vidas muy ocupadas, pero también de apreciar los diferentes aspectos de nuestras vidas: el regalo de tener un buen trabajo que hacer, tener momentos de comida en familia y recuerdos con nuestros amigos y familiares. Este son g es el primer lanzamiento de un proyecto de varias canciones llamado Ten Piece Puzzle. Estoy planeando publicar cada canción aproximadamente una por mes en todas las principales plataformas de transmisión, incluidas: Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Pandora, Amazon Music, Deezer y muchas más.

B.E. My Spanish speaking skill is actually quite limited, so I use Google Translate in order to communicate with people from different cultures that speak different languages. It is of great help in communicating with people all over the world using the language that is most comfortable for them.

The family name Eyre is from the British Isles, mainly English, but also common in Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

B.P. Checking your profiles to find information, we discovered on Linkedin that you worked more than 20 years in the private sector and in a multinational like Dupont… How do you remember the moment when you decided to dedicate yourself to the guitar, and what is read as “Fingerstyle Guitar Recording Artist”?

B.E. Yes, I worked in the corporate business world for many years. When I was finished working in the corporate world it was a great feeling of freedom. At the same time my wife finished working in a law office. Now she is an artist and I am a musician. This brings new opportunities and also lots of new challenges! We also engage in many volunteer activities, at our church and also with oganizations that help mentor people and feed the homeless.

B.P. We also saw that an invention patent refers. What was it about? And it was inevitable to think that Dupont patented the knitted stockings, something that the Argentine writer Roberto Arlt also struggled and patented without having final success in Buenos Aires...

B.E. Yes, I have received a patent. It is related to a color film for the printing industry. Since I worked for DuPont at the time of the invention, DuPont has ownership of the invention. But it was still a great honor to receive this patent.

B.P. You are a man from Wilmington, Delawere, in the United States and you studied at the university of this State, which, incidentally, was the one who represented twice as senator, now President Biden. And he lives in Kennett Square. What can you tell those of us who don't know your region, about its culture, its roots, its history, one of that deep United States?

B.E. I was born in Delaware and lived in Delaware until I was 27. I was transfered to Illinois (near Chicago). My family (my wife, and 3 children) have lived several different places as part of my business career, including living in Seoul, South Korea for 3 years. That was really an adventure for the whole family!

Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and Wilmington, Delaware are quite close to each other. The culture in both places is quite similar. It is a very historic área. Within an hour drive is Philadelphia, which is where many of our country’s important documents were created more than 200 years ago. People are friendly and there are many different types of food that we can enjoy.

B.P. The musical work arrived and last year, in the middle of the pandemic, he released his album Study of hands. How was the preparation of it, in terms of lyrics and music?

B.E. I had been planning to créate a music álbum since before the pandemic. But, once we were in lock down, I was able to focus my efforts for creating the record much more so than before the pandemic. I had to learn so many new skills, including recording software, setting up a website, cover artwork design and many other things. It was a big challenge, but very rewarding when it was finally released!

B.P. We also saw a good development of their singles The New Beggining and The One about hope. Are they stories about that new reality and hope for a better tomorrow, overcoming the pandemic? What are they really about?

B.E. The One About Hope has two meanings, the first meaning is the importance of hope in our life, so it is a song about hope. The second meaning is faith based: Jesus is the One about hope.

The New Beginning is about a turning point in your life that brings new opportunity. This energizes us to go to the next horizon. It is a song about this kind of journey.

B.P. Tell us about your arrival on the Burro Borracho Records platform, with your instrumental songs...

B.E. I am so very grateful to Burro Borracho Records for accepting The One About Hope to their Instrumental Folk Spotify playlist. This is one of the best playlists that my music has been added to. I hope to have this opportunity again with my upcoming new releases.

B.P. And the launch is coming this June 18… It is the single Working the clock. What is it about and on what networks can your music be found? Are there more music or albums that you will be recording soon? 

B.E. Working the Clock is about managing our very busy lives, but also about appreciating the different aspects of our lives: the gift of having good work to do, having family meal times and memories with our friends and family. This song is the first reléase from a multi-song project called: Ten Piece Puzzle. I am planning to reléase each song approximately one per month to all the major streaming platforms including: Spotify, Apple

Music, YouTube, Pandora, Amazon Music, Deezer and many more. In the mean time, for anyone that would like to hear and purchase Ten Piece Puzzle, the whole album (all 10 songs) will be available in August on my website and on my bandcamp site.
